Bruins beat Panthers 6-3 for 4th straight win
Boston moves to 5-2-0, Florida falls to 3-3-1
Jake DeBrusk scored and added two assists as the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 6-3 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win.
David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Morgan Geekie, Mason Lohrei and Justin Brazeau also scored for Boston, which improved to 5-2-0. Jeremy Swayman made 28 saves.
Aleksander Barkov had a goal and two assists for Florida, which fell to 3-3-1. Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell also scored, and Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 33 shots.
The Bruins took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Pastrnak and McAvoy. Barkov cut it to 2-1 with a power-play goal early in the second, but Geekie and Lohrei restored Boston's two-goal lead later in the period.
Reinhart made it 4-3 with a goal at 5:34 of the third period, but DeBrusk answered back with a goal of his own just over two minutes later. Brazeau added an empty-net goal with 1:22 remaining.
The Bruins will host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. The Panthers will visit the Ottawa Senators on Saturday afternoon.
