Tottenham player ratings: Kulusevski cameo key but Werner and Forster abject
Hugo Lloris - 7
Had nothing to do for much of the game but made a smart save to deny Timo Werner in the second half. Was bailed out by his defenders on a couple of occasions though, particularly when Raheem Sterling broke clear.
Emerson Royal - 5
Defended diligently but offered little going forward. Was caught out of position a few times, but his teammates bailed him out.
Cristian Romero - 7
Another solid performance from the Argentine defender. Made some crucial blocks and tackles, and was a threat from set-pieces.
Eric Dier - 6
Not as convincing as Romero, but still did a solid job. Was caught out of position a couple of times, but made up for it with some good tackles.
Ben Davies - 6
Defended diligently but offered little going forward. Was caught out of position a few times, but his teammates bailed him out.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 7
Was typically industrious in midfield, and broke up play well. Was not as effective going forward as he can be, but still put in a decent performance.
Rodrigo Bentancur - 7
Another good performance from the Uruguayan midfielder. Was creative and incisive in possession, and also worked hard defensively.
Dejan Kulusevski - 8
Came on as a substitute in the second half and made an immediate impact. Scored a stunning goal and was a constant threat to the Chelsea defence. Was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet again.
Heung-min Son - 6
Was lively and dangerous throughout, but was not able to find the back of the net. Had a few good chances, but was denied by Kepa Arrizabalaga on each occasion.
Harry Kane - 6
Was not as influential as he can be, but still played a role in Tottenham's victory. Dropped deep to collect the ball and link up play, and also had a few good chances to score. Was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
Richarlison - 6
Was lively and dangerous throughout, but was not able to find the back of the net. Had a few good chances, but was denied by Kepa Arrizabalaga on each occasion.
Substitutes
Fraser Forster - 4
Came on as a substitute in the second half and made a couple of good saves. However, he also made a couple of poor errors, including one that led to Chelsea's goal.
Lucas Moura - 6
Came on as a substitute in the second half and made an immediate impact. Was lively and dangerous, and created a few good chances for his teammates.
Yves Bissouma - 6
Came on as a substitute in the second half and helped Tottenham to see out the game. Was tidy in possession and made a few good tackles.
